In 1974, on this day the Euro Arab Dialogue (EAD) began with a ministerial level meeting between representatives of the Arab League and the European Communities in Paris.
Birth of Eurabia
Ed, Scott Palter & Jared MAlthough historians point to this collaborative meeting as the birth of Eurabia, in reality the critical event was a decision by the Syria Government to take on French staff advisers at regimental and divisional levels to respond to the faster Israeli "observe, orient, decide, and act" loops that they saw in the Six Day War in 1967. The inevitable result was the Arab Victory in 1973 which led to the destruction of the State of Israel.
Angered by the failed American support for Israel, OPEC ministers punished the US by quadrupling the price of oil but as a result of EAD waived this increase for members of the European Community.
Contemporary observes saw the dismantling of the transatlantic alliance unfold, but larger changes were afoot. Not only would a powerful rival emerge to confront the United States in the early twenty-first century, but Europe itself would change through a slow transformative process of Islamization and Arabization.

Bat Ye'or was born in Cairo, Egypt from a middle class Jewish family, but she and her parents were forced to leave Egypt in 1957 after the Israeli attack on Egypt during the Suez War of 1956,[9] arriving in London as stateless refugees.

The "Israeli attack on Egypt" was a counter-attack -- a thousand Israels were killed by Nasser's "fedayeen."
You vastly underestimate what it would take to improve an Arab army. The entire social system would have to
change.
France was alone in Europe in its pro-Arab stance in 1967. Everyone knew what de Gaulle was up to.
Syria was a virtual Soviet colony at the time and would never have permitted French officers into the country.
France is not a country to export military command theory.
Germany would never have gone along with this conspiracy.
Bat Ye'or is not an extremist, she's a realist who is best known for documenting the tragic fate of minorities in the Islamic world. The fact that a maniac read her book changes nothing. It's just an embarrassment. Norway is full of extremists, most of them on the extreme left. (I can go on about this.)
Comment from Alan Abramowitz on Facebook: This timeline would have to include the unsuccessful attempt by Israel to develop nuclear weapons for this to be viable.If that were so Europe and the USA would be flooded with Israeli refugees. That would change the character of both areas immensely as any Jewish immigration did. I dont see an easy process of Islamization and Arabization here.
~ The combined potency of European finance and Arabian oil would be devastating to American Superpowerhood. Gotta have that oil!
