Eric Oppen commented on 2011-09-01 06:12:23 ~ As I understand it, the network disliked it partly because it was more expensive to produce...all those optics and special effects, even in the primitive state they were in. That said, if this had happened, oh, what wonderful TV we'd have seen!

McDonnell commented on 2011-09-01 11:56:26 ~ TV execs on all networks are notorious for killing imaginative shows like the original Star Trek, for example Sliders and Quantum Leap were both killed off by changing writers, altering time slots and changing actors. Even B5 faced cancellations and rebirth as it switched networks as did Buffy the Vampire Slayer. While I wish this ATL had happened how likely is it that even with good ratings the execs would leave it alone and let it live long and prosper?
